Botox is a neuromodulator that is injected into muscles to reduce the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines. It works by blocking nerve signals that cause the muscles to contract, relaxing them, and smoothing the skin.
Dysport is similar to Botox in that it is also a neuromodulator. However, Dysport is a different formulation of the same active ingredient. It is said to diffuse more widely, making it a better option for treating large areas or for patients with deep wrinkles.
The effects of Botox and Dysport typically last for 3-4 months, after which the treatment will need to be repeated to maintain the results.
Jeuveau is a non-invasive treatment that uses radiofrequency energy to stimulate collagen production and tighten the skin. The heat generated by the radiofrequency energy causes the collagen fibers in the skin to contract, resulting in a tighter, more youthful-looking appearance.
There is typically no downtime associated with Botox, Dysport, or Jeuveau treatments. Some patients may experience some mild redness or swelling at the injection site, but this usually resolves within a few hours. However, it’s best to consult your practitioner regarding possible side effects or downtime.
